Tomato kulambu is common south indian dish goes along with white rice,dosa,idli.Its very easy to prepare within a short time of period.Suppose if we go for an outing with our friends and family members after when we returned home if we are hungry i would specially recommend this dish for viewers.

Tomato Kulambu
INGREDIENTS
2 teaspoon Peanut Oil or Gingelly Oil
½ teaspoon black mustard seeds
½ teaspoon split urad dal
2 sprigs Curry Leaves
1 onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of Red chilly powder
1 teaspoon of Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of Coriander powder
⅓ cup freshly shredded coconut
4 tomatoes finely chopped
1 green chilli
small amount of coriander leaves
PREPARATIONS
In a kadai add oil.Once the oil is heated add mustrad seeds and urad dhal.Let it splutter.
Then add chopped onionns,curry leaves and green chilli
Once the onions turns golden color add the chopped tomatoes.let it sit till it turns mushy.
Then add all the powders add water as much the quanity required for kulamu
After 2mins you can see the oil separates add the coconut paste and salt and keep it in low flame till the raw smell goes off.
Finally add coriander leaves and switch of the stove.
Note:
Instead of adding water you can aslo add coconut milk that gives a better taste
Coconut is optional if you want you can avoid it
